Default Looking for a digibox

Looking for a freeview digibox, but I want one for a TV that does not have a
scart socket, but will go into a bog-standard Ariel socket. I don't want to
have a scart modulator.

Does such an animal exist?

Graham

Yes, loads of them have modulators. Just check. And don't forget to get the
feeding bowl.

Humax and most Haupage have modulators.

Look at the Humax MG-TU1 which is a TUTV box, 7 day EPG, is fast, and
has a modulator. Last seen at GBP64.50 in Comet.

Looking for a freeview digibox,

Then, alas, you will not find one! The term 'digibox' refers to Sky
Digital's decoder. You meant DTT decoder.

It is aerial, specifically 'rf'.

I have three which suit the bill, but the ones I have are no longer made.

Since when?

You meant DTT decoder.

That's one description. You may have meant set top box, digibox, &c.

BSkyB coined the expression back in 1998.

You meant DTT decoder.

Yes, it's the old Hoover/Vacuum Cleaner thing all over again.

Johnny P is being characteristically pedantic again.

It's valid to point out the difference in a technical newsgroup such as this,
but John's reply doesn't include anything constructive to answer the OP's
question, rather typical of him I'm afraid.

You can do what I did in the playroom:
14" portable TV with 1 scart and aeriel socket
To Connect:
Video (2 SCART)
Sony DTT VTX800 DTT box
DVD player Old Toshiba (no pass-through)

DTT to Video via scart (AV2 pass-through only)
Video to TV via aeriel
DVD to TV via SCART

If the DVD player had RGB pass-through I would have connected
Video-DTT-DVD-TV! But alas no.

Of course a three-way SCART switcher would have worked :-) But at least
I get to output th sound from the video to the stereo, which has only
one AUX socket. So you can always use the modulator on a video,
provided you leave it switched on when watching the DTT.

regards,
daren
