Default Help with Sharp HDTV

Looking for help on Sharp LC-26D6U TV. Problem concerns Channel ID in upper
right corner. It pops up and off constantly. I have Mediacom cable. I use
splitter to enable analog and digital channels. The problem is with certain
analog channels only. It seems worse on live sports especially on golf.
When the golf score pops up, as the player hits, up pops my channel ID then
goes away. I do not have my cable card yet as this is our 2nd TV. Main
viewing is on 50 inch Samsung with Cable DVR . Sharp is 30-45 days old,
purchased from Crutchfield and in warranty, however closest Sharp repair
shop is over 50 miles. Called Sharp they offered no help. They said
might be splitter. Took splitter out of loop, re-scanned analog only
channels, still had problem. Any set-up adjustments or tweaks that I might
do is appreciated.
Thanks, Ross

Can't help you, but I am getting essentially the same thing on an LC-37D5U.
It acts as if somebody was fiddling with the "DISPLAY" button on the remote.
I am on Comcast cable, and this happens with the DVR feeding the TV through
the Component inputs. This might happen several times a minute; or, it might
not do it for weeks at a time.

I think I've read about this before. If memory serves, it can happen
when picture enhancing features are incompatible with one another.
Sometimes the manuals call these out, sometimes not.

Try turning off all image enhancers, automatic and otherwise. These
"enhancers" usually add information to the picture that doesn't need to
be there, and can at times cause weird anomalies. If the problem goes
away, add the enhancers back in one at a time until the suspect shows
itself.
