Default (An adult's view) Reasons for buying a Sony PlayStation® 3

In article , Kenneth R. Maddigan
says...
#1: Blu-ray is king. Blu-ray is superior to HD-DVD, this is undisputed.

How do you know? We've seen neither.

#2: The games are plentiful.

Only because you're including PS2 titles.

#3. The expense is acceptable.

BWAHAHAHA

#4. Innovation doesn't matter.

SO if there's nothing new, why bother buying it?

Blueray will die-off for the simple fact that most people will recognize the words HD-DVD but have no clue what Blueray is.

exactly. it doesn't matter whether it's better or not: people will just assume that an HD-DVD is a kick-ass DVD player and that Blueray is an untested new gimmick.

And then they will drive to BestBuy and see the HD-DVD for about $500 and
some Blueray play for $1000.

Then you will hear the funeral bells ring for Blueray.

Dong..Dong..Dong..

Actually at the prices they want, for both the players and disks,,with
an only marginal , if that, increase in quality - its funeral bells
for both formats.

and so where is this mythical $500 "play station/Blue ray player",,6
months late, 9 months late,,XX months late,,,

So maybe they have discovered that they can not even make the dam
thing in mass production quantities,,,????

???????
