I am a home electronics salesman at Sears. While there are tv's on the market that support full 1080p there is currently no cable that can support the data for it. HDMI has the possibility for it, because it can be upgraded, there are places in the cable that are not used as of this time. While the sony XBR tvs can display it, nothing on the market is able to actually output this high of a resolution to date.

My video card is fully capable of supporting 1080p and higher. -- Want the ultimate in free OTA SD/HDTV Recorder? http://mythtv.org http://mysettopbox.tv/knoppmyth.html Usenet alt.video.ptv.mythtv My server http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/cpu.php HD Tivo S3 compared http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/mythtivo.htm |

I saw it working yesterday with a media drive connected via IEEE1394 to a Mitsubishi. HDMI can also support it, as can any ATSC transmission system at 24 and 30 fps. Frankly, I don't think the 1080p connection makes as much difference, if any, compared to many other factors, but it is possible. Just calibrating your set properly will make far more difference than the diff b/w 1080i and 1080p connections.
