Default Recording freeview channels

Hey, apologies if this has been posted before, I've had a quick look
around but couldn't see anything.

My TV is a Bush RF6694D with built in freeview and I've always had
trouble trying to record off any freeview channels.
My video is a Bush Model VCR 905SIL/A and the TV,Video and DVD player
came as a set.
I can easily record off channels 1,2,3,4 and 5 but have had no success
with freeview and I'm not sure what else I can do - I was just
wondering if it is actually possible, as I've heard talk of having to
have digital videos etc.

Any help anyone could offer if much appreciated!

Our neighbour has the same TV (except branded 'Goodmans') and it works
fine. When you're /watching/ a DTV channel the SCART provides the video
output. I don't know your VCR but plug the TV into the first SCART
socket on the video and set the video channel to AV or L1 (look for an
AV button or similar on the remote). You must have the TV on when you
record and you can't monitor the recording but it should work. Don't
worry about digital TV recorders, most people get by fine without them.

Good luck!

I'm sure they do, but listen to the advice here. Most people who don't use a
digital TV recorder don't know what they're missing, those who have got one
say it's revolutionised the way they watch TV and would never go back.
