#1: Blu-ray is king. Blu-ray is superior to HD-DVD, this is undisputed.
The only question is expense. That question is answered by the Sony PlayStation® 3, which will be the motor driving the next technological advance - to Blu-ray. The Sony PlayStation® 3 will open up a whole new market. It will be huge. Invest in Sony now, the future looks bright. #2: The games are plentiful. This is Sony's specialty. There will be so many more games made for the Sony PlayStation® 3 than for any other console due to the confidence of Sony's many third-party game developers. With so many games, some will have to be good. With Sony, the odds of finding a satisfying game are better because there will be so many games to choose from. Sony: lots of games. #3. The expense is acceptable. Let's face it, video games have grown beyond kids. Some developers like Nintendo market exclusively to kids, and some like Microsoft market to the 12-16 segment. Sony is distinguishing itself. It will be the first true 3D game console for adults only. Why shouldn't a game console be as large or expensive as a car or dishwasher? These are adult items, bought by adults and used by them. The Sony PlayStation® 3 is meant for adults, and its price shows that. #4. Innovation doesn't matter. The Sony PlayStation® 3 controller features motion detection. Sony is also getting into the online game. Anything the competitors can invent, Sony can take. It is fair game, as many of the Sony PlayStation®'s concepts were taken by competitors. The Sony PlayStation® 3 will have everything the other consoles have, plus all the added benefits that go with Sony. -- Ken M. Professional Console Game Reviewers Guild Patriarch |

Professional Console Game Reviewers Guild Patriarch This would have been an accurate post about a year ago, but let's face it, in the last year it's all been a tumble after tumble for PS3. A year ago I was fully convinced I would get a PS3 as soon as it was available (though I'm not a 'camper'). Nowadays, I'm not so sure anymore. I still think I'll eventually get it, but I will wait and see. |

Ive always been a Playstation kinda guy, but what with it being so cheap, and having got quite genuinely excited by what i saw of the Nintendo Wii demo, I have to admit if I can be bothered continuing the video game lifestyle, Id go for the Wii. |

It will be huge. Invest in Sony now, the future looks bright. Sony had a superior format with betamax video tapes long ago but they never survived....time will tell which format gains widespread public acceptance #2: The games are plentiful. Games aren't plentiful the system isn't even out yet. Maybe they will be some day but for now at least your statement is incorrect. And many big name titles such as Grand Theft Auto IV aren't even exclusive to the PS3. #3. The expense is acceptable. Let's face it, video games have grown beyond kids. The Sony PlayStation® 3 is meant for adults, and its price shows that. lol, being for an adult justifies a price being high ? That's an interesting notion. By virtue of it being high priced it only hurts Sony as they are limiting their market segment to higher income people. Less units = less incentive for game developers to choose the PS3 over other systems. Of course innovation is important. |
