Have any NTL phone line users got their free NTL TV box? What's the number
to call to arrange for installation?

Thanks in advance

As someone who has never had the slightest problem with NTL, I can only
disagree. Their support centre is pants but the broadband internet is
first class.

Yes I agree, we have two NTL connections to our rented house. Both
broadband lines were installed quickly and at the arranged time, the
product is reliable and consistent.
Arranging the installations over the phone was a nightmare, involving
very long telephone conversations and swapping between departments.

Perhaps Ed is pleased with his current tv/internet and phone package,
and will be partaking of some personal fisting this evening as he does
every other evening rather than trying to change his comms provider.

In the same sentence you say the priduct is reliable, which is great,
but actually arranging it was a nightmare.

Fortunately I get sky free from virgin radio and work pays for my
broadband

This pretty much sums up my experiences of NTL too. The actual product is
good. TV, broadband and telephone, no real compliants, and in general a good
reliable service.
HOWEVER, when it goes wrong (as even the best service will from time to
time) their customer service and support is generally very poor. Fortunatly,
I've only every had to use it 2-3 times in the last 3 years.

Cheers,

Chris.

I agree with the quality of service, however the phone costs are
prohibitive.....

I dumped NTL for that reason, on BT basic service my phone costs are now
half the NTL costs

The free TV only gives you Sky 1 with the same line-up as
Freeview..... Having left NTL 6 months ago Sky 3 is showing what I used
to watch on NTL, the delay of 6 months avoids the repeats!!!

I am with Telewest and now use Skype for all my phone needs. Saves me
100 pounds a year line rental plus loads in call costs.
