I'd like to replace my old problematic Sony A1 with a newer Sony A65.
Can I simply transfer my currently valid and working access card to the new machine? |

Call DirecTV and ask the question. Customer support at DirecTV will
have a response to your request. Phone number is 1-800-531-5000. "rljames" wrote in message ... I'd like to replace my old problematic Sony A1 with a newer Sony A65. Can I simply transfer my currently valid and working access card to the new machine? |

You might be able to use the old card, buy you'll have to call DirecTV
before it will actually work. The card is "married" to the receiver that it was working with. Only DirecTV can perform the appropriate ceremonies to make the card work with the new receiver. rljames wrote: I'd like to replace my old problematic Sony A1 with a newer Sony A65. Spoke with DirecTV a few moments ago and they told me "old" card should
work in "newer" receiver without problems. They also offered "free" (no charge or ongoing monthy lease fee) new receiver. Jack Ak wrote: Call DirecTV and ask the question. Only DirecTV can perform the appropriate ceremonies to make the card work with the new receiver. You can do this yourself within limits. Call Directv on the number associated with your account and enter 722 at the prompt. This will remarry cards to the receiver that they are in with some exceptions that you don't have.
