Default toshiba 42wlt66 hdmi to dvi

Can anyone assist, I want the best from my new toy. I have a 42wlt66
and would like to connect to my pc. I've just received my DHCP
certified HDMI to DVI cable from Lindy and connected it up to my pc,
utilising the DVI connection of my ASUS 9600XT graphics card. No
picture on the HDMI channel. Do I need to configure the card to output
via DVI????

you surely do!
check the display properties on your desktop - chances are the second
monitor is currently showing as greyed out, you need to activate it, choose
which screen is secondary, which is primary etc etc.

Thanks for that. I did as you said. Set the correct resolutions and
rebooted both units but still no picture. When I go to HDMI1 and HDMI2
I just get a blue screen.

well...
does the settings actually show them as activated?
if they do maybe you need to entertain the idea that the lead isnt working -
although that seems a little unlikely.
other than that i'm out of ideas.

Does your TV actually accept PC signal over HDMI?
Several TV's do not - they cannot synch correctly.
On many, you can only use the VGA port - if provided.
Or you need to use a graphix card that can output 1080i or 720p TV signals

There's a massive thread here about this TV and several comments about PC
connectivity. Your answer may lie somewhere in there. If not then just add a
question to the thread.

Thanks for that, I've searched the forum and am sure that what I am
proposing is possible but to date am failing miserably. Lets hope
someone is able to point out what I'm doing wrong.
cheers
