Sky wont add a option to disable the red dot - but is there any reason
why a freeview box cant add the option ? . As a freeview box is only £30 i'd happily spend the £30 to replace my current freeview box for one that had a option to disable the red dot . In the argos catalog about 1-2 years ago there was a bottom of the range bush that didnt have any interactive options and therefore no red dot . Not suggesting the interactive should be done away with - but am seggesting a option to disable the red dot if wanted . Would any of you lot also be quite willing and happy to spend £30 on a new freeview box if it had a option to disable the red dot ? . |

You can't disable it, but you can get it so that it goes off screen after a minute (or two). Which is the next best thing I suppose. -- "Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy." |

Topfield PVR includes the facility as standard to disable RED DOT ****. It also includes the facility to skip adverts with ease. It also records two channels at once whilst watching a third channel or playback. The only things it does not do is 1, make tea, 2. give blow jobs. |

There are channels, Challenge being one, which return the 'dot' after so many minutes, mainly because it's plugging their gaming crap. -- Paul (Neurotic to the bone No doubt about it) ------------------------------------------------------ Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

The old analogue Sky boxes used to have separate scart outputs for TV and VCR. The VCR output had none of the ****e that was added to the TV output, even if you plugged it into your TV. The only reason Sky haven't done something similar with the digital boxes is because the advertisers wouldn't like it. They have recently started having large on screen adverts via "press red" during programmes. Sky shills are claiming this is just a mistake, but it will be a mistake that happens more and more often. Well me not paying them £400 a year for the last 7 years is also "just a mistake". |
