"Randy S." wrote in message ... Q: Is it possible to play back a previously recording program while TiVo is busy recording two new programs on dual tuner boxes? A: The answer is the same as above. A dual tuner TiVo is constantly making two recordings (it has two independent 30-minute buffers). Playing back anything involves two recording streams and one playback stream, be it live TV, delayed live TV, or something from Now Playing. A dual tuner TiVo has enough power to do all three at once, and still be able to handle scheduling (Guide data, Season Pass, etc). -Joe Sounds definitive. : -) And if you had two coax boxes in the room, you could record two programs on any station, I presume. No, because as Joe has stated earlier, the DT SA Tuner has only one set of inputs. So only one coax box can be attached to it at any one time. Randy S. Sorry to be so slow ... but are you saying that one coax feed both the complete spectrum of stations and on a second case only the ones that normally come to a tv set which doesn't have a convertor box? ... that the one coax is the only one going to the Tivos that can record two programs? |

.....and what about the premium channels (SHO, HBO etc.) does TiVo unscramble them? No, until the S3 (which has cablecard) is released, you must use an external box for descrambling. Randy S. |

The DT TiVo can only record one scrambled channel at a time. The S3 will be able to record two scrambled channels at a time. I'm not sure where any confusion around this is. -- This is my .sig |

That would be two if you count the RF input. My family has his-and-hers SA TiVos. Our first TiVo was getting confuse by two greatly different sets of Wishlist and Suggestions. Two identical TiVos can live peacefully in the same room as long as you go into Setup and change one to remote code 1 and the other to remote code 2. -Joe |

Both of them digital. My Comcast STB RF output is channel 3. -- Travis in Shoreline Washington |

The TiVo changing channels on one and the other having to be changed some other way, I guess. |
