Default 311 Receiver problem???

One of my 311 receivers has started "temporarily losing" the signals from
the satellites from 119, 110 and 68.1

Switch check reveals the message that fewer satellites were found this time
than last time. I cancel out out the switch test.

Decided to swap boxes with 311 in another room and the problem stays in the
original room, or seems to so far. Has only been about 45 minutes since I
swapped.

When I first hooked up the 311 from the other room, all satellites were
found and signal strength was well over 100. Then shortly I lost 119 -
which I had not seen before, Still had 110 and 68.1.

Did switch test and got similar response - fewer satellites than before.
Then got 119 back. At this time 119 passes and 110 and 68.1 fail. The same
as the other box acted.

This tells me it must be cable or the box where the satellite merging into
cable coming into the house. Which is most likely the problem? I would
imagine something in the box but if so, what do I look for?????

Have had the satellites for several years, at least back to when Hurricane
Charlie and Jean came through just before Ivan. So been almost 2 years at
least.

Not sure what I will find when I remove the cover from the junction box (I
guess that is a good term).

Thanks for any assistance.

Jim

No such sat as 68.1, what LNB and switch do you have. The switch test should
tell what you have

Can you now swap cables to see if the problem moves to the other room?
