Hi all,
Why are there so many advertisments (when we are paying a subscription)and is it me or do they increase the volume when the adverts come on, and why are the adverts on every channel at the same time. Why do all the programs start on the hour or half hour, why don`t they stagger the start times, also the movie channels on sky seem to be showing older movies since box office began . Why are there so many repeats on Why am I still subscribing ? Oh yeah, I signed a contract for 12 months only 4 months to go )[email protected] |

Yes, it does seem louder and apparently they spent a lot of time trying to sync the things so it would be hard to dodge them. worse still were the ones that came on almost as soon as the credits had finished at the start. Money talks - the only way to make Sky listen would be for thousands of people to unsubscribe (all on the same day for better effect!) I cancelled earlier this year and don't regret it one bit. |

Why are there so many advertisments (when we are paying a subscription) Because if there were no advertisements at all, your subscription would be substantially higher and you'd be moaning about that too. is it me or do they increase the volume when the adverts come on, No, but the audio for adverts is usually 'treated' by the advertisers so that it sounds like "your hot rocking Capital FM, the loudest station on the dial". That is not done to programmes. and why are the adverts on every channel at the same time. Because most channels start their programmes on the hour or half hour, and because Ofcom (and/or common sense) dictates that breaks in an hour or half hour show will occur at roughly even points throughout the programme. So If they start at the same time, they'll probably have breaks at the same time as well. Why do all the programs start on the hour or half hour, why don`t they stagger the start times, Because every channel is different, because they don't work together, and because it wouldn't benefit anyone anyway. also the movie channels on sky seem to be showing older movies since box office began . That's a myth, the movie channels are still "12 months after rental date" as dictated by the movie studios. Why are there so many repeats on Because most people can't watch 500 channels at once so there's always a very good chance that they're going to miss something. Why am I still subscribing ? Oh yeah, I signed a contract for 12 months Funny that you're posting from a CABLE company IP address, then, isn't it. -- |

OK, 'they' = advertisers, its still an annoying thing about sky. Would Jomtiens "delta force" or whatever it was called fix that? :-) -- Tumbleweed email replies not necessary but to contact use; tumbleweednews at hotmail dot com |

I'm not into cutting my nose off to spite my own face. There's much I hate but I would go spare with the basic five channels. I don't watch much telly but hardly any of it is on the five. -- Paul (Neurotic to the bone No doubt about it) ------------------------------------------------------ Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |
