Default Samsung DLP Remote - Pretty Damn Weak

My Samsung HLN567W DLP came with a remote that as far as I understand
has no codes for any DirecTV receivers OR EVEN the Samsung SIR351 HDTV
receiver.

Has anyone with a Sammy DLP been able to get their remote to work with
either DirecTV or the Sammy HDTV tuner?

Of course it doesn't work with a Pioneer DVD, but why should it?

Bill

I have it working, but the other way around. I'm using the Samsung SIR351
remote for both the STB and for the Samsung HLN567W TV. Its extremely simple
and requires no programming or codes, etc -- it works right out of the box!

Near the top of the SIR351 remote is a horizontal row of buttons that light
up (labeled 'STB', 'TV', and some others that I don't use). When you press
the STB button, the remote is operating in STB mode. Hitting the power button
turns the STB on/off. Pressing the channel up/down button changes channels
on the STB. Hitting the menu button brings up the STB on-screen menu.
Likewise, when you press the TV button, now the remote is in TV mode. Hitting
the power button turns the tv on/off. Pressing the channel up/down button
changes channels on the tv itself (ie., analog cable input in my case).
Hitting the aspect button changes between tv screen aspect ratios. Hitting
the menu button brings up the TV onscreen menu.

Basically, I never use the TV remote for anything since I can do it all through
the STB remote.

Hope this helps.

Mike
