Default Angus Transmitter and Freeview

Hi all, anyone out there living in / around Tayside Scotland who uses
the Angus transmitter. If so are you having any problems with the
freeview channels at all ? In particular intermittent loss of picture
but sound ok, no Now and Next or a complete 7 day EPG for all channels
? We are also suffering from frequent 'new channels detected' auto
scans on our two backup Sagem units.

Yes. St Andrews. 27 km from Angus.

No. Not recently.

No. Not here.

Using a Nokia 221T, which has no EPG, so can't comment on the above. But I
can't recall any signs of problems in recent weeks.

Slainte,

Jim

No problems here (Monifieth nr Dundee).

In fact we've just (finally) gotten around to replacing the cowboy installed
wideband aerial with a C/D grouped one and the difference it's made to the
SNR* readings (of DigiTV) is considerable. We were suffering from occasional
break-up on the ITV/C4 mux before, but not any more. And this is summer with
the trees between us and the transmitter now in full leaf.

* values were previously anywhere between 11-18db, now they're at about 25
and staying constant (can never remember if these values are -db or not, so
apologies)

Thanks for that because we too are in Monifieth. I cannot compare s/n
ratios because our set top boxes only give 'signal strength' and
'quality' values as a percentage for the various Mux. We are not
getting a picture break-up i.e. blocked pixilation or freezing images
just weird reception from time to time. I wondered if the Michelin
wind turbines were contributing to the problem but having been on the
roof they are way over to the left. As I say the Now and Next / EPG
frequently is no longer updating like it once was and the auto tune
seems to think new channels have been detected.
Last night having posted the request for advice on the group, the
picture and sound problem never once happened.

Thanks for that, well it is now looking like the fault lies with our
equipment :-(
