Looking for 37" LCD sets that could fit into my current Ent center.
I have 39" of clearance (width) so I 'm looking for sets that have either detachable side speakers of speakers placed on the bottom. I hear good things about the Aquos, was wondering about good recs for other brands. |

Other than that I don't know anything about the quality, reliability or who makes the Dell. Wayne |

Thanks,
Anybody own a Vizio 37"? If so, how does the SD play on it? I figure on waiting a year or so before buying a big screen so I'm looking for a set that would fit in the other room, henxe 37" or less. Since this is a 'second' set I'm looking to spend less on this than the 'primary' set. My main uses are going to be OTA HD, SD from cable, & a progressive scan DVD player. It has speakers below... it keeps up with fast movement onscreen which the Polaroid 32 fails at... and it has a solid HDMI performance which the Westinghouse didn't. The picture is excellent and the ATSC tuner also works better than any of the others except possibly the HUMAX, Jeff |

I hear good things about the Aquos, was wondering about good recs for other brands. The Toshibas (37HL95, 37HLX95) both are 36.1" wide I think, with bottom speakers. They have built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC Tuners as well as CableCard and TV Guide On Screen (TGOS.) If using a cableCard from your cable company, it eliminated the need for the cable box. The 37HLX95 version is the Cinema series and even has a built-in DVD player, though in your case it may be tough to get to--it's a slot on the side. They have since come out with lower cost 37" models too, without CableCard slots... I think the 66 series--37HL66 under $2K MSRP, 37HLV66 w/DVD $2099 MSRP. I was going to get the 37HL95 but decided on the new 2006 42HL196 42" w/1080p for a couple hundred more. All the Sharp D6U and D7U are also bottom mount speakers I believe. The D4U & D5U are side mounted. Hope this helps. Mark |
