Default Sony 40" XBR LCD antenna input question

Recently got the Sony 40" Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 LCD HD set. All hook-ups
are fine, except I want to experiment with pulling in over-the-air HD
signals through a pair of rabbit ears. I have the rabbit ears plugged
into the only input it could go into, which is the vhf/uhf ANT input,
but I can't seem to figure out how to turn that input 'on' or how to get
the ears to operate. All I get is snow on each input selection I press
on the remote. Any advice on how to do so would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.......

I have the 32" Sony XBR. You have to go to the menu that lets you do
"autoprogram." Click on Settings and then click on Channel and then
click on Autoprogram.
The tv will then try to pull in all the channels possible from your
attenna.
I have Philips amplified rabbit ears hooked to my tv set.
I can 3 HD stations from the Buffalo, NY area.
Kevin
p.s. remember to choose Antenna from the Wega Gate menu.

Can't say much about the rabbit ears except to get the best you can find,
and there might be a distinction between regular old VHF rabbit ears, and
ones that are specifically designed for HD signals, do a search.

What I'm really interested in though is how do you like this model? I'm
about to shell out some money for either an LCD or Plasma and I'm having a
hard time deciding which is the best way to go. I'll be connecting a PC to
it too and I've been told that I would be better off getting an LCD if I'm
going to do that.

Thanks!
