Default cabling for wall mounted TV

I'm refinishing my basement and I'm designating one area as the
location to eventually wall mount a flat panel plasma or LCD TV.
Currently, the drywall has not been installed (studs only) and I want
to make sure that, in addition to having a power outlet setup for the
new TV, I have the correct cabling running behind the wall, to the
location that the TV will eventually cover. I want to avoid having
loose wiring running up on the outside of the wall.

I was thinking about installing conduit behind the wall, that would
lead from where the TV would be mounted, down to an area where I would
setup all of the other components (cable box, DVD, Surround Sound,
etc...). The conduit would contain a wire or string that I could use
to pull the correct cables (HDMI, Component, S-Video, etc...) through
at a later time. Part of the issue is I haven't purchased the TV yet
and I want the setup to be as flexible as possible.

Is this the correct way to approach this or does anyone have other
reccommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I did something similar many years ago - running pvc through the
concrete as it was being poured.

If I were to do it again, I would use at least 2" pvc instead on the 1"
and I would have put in two 45 degree turns in the place of the 90
degree turns.

A sweep 90 would also work well.

I ran 3 r6 lines and some cat5 to where I plan on putting TV's later. All
lead to closet under stairs where my equipment is going. The R6's can be
used as Component or RCA depending on what I need. My Marantz receiver has
2 other zones that I can use for those TV's. Cat5 can be used for remote
sensors later, but now will just be hidden inside wall box. Each TV has
Double gang box for R6/CAT5. and one box for electric. One is for future
Bar tv and the other goes in pool table area.

What did you do for speaker wiring?
