recording multiple tv programs to DVD-R

Tivo or a standalone Tivo. It makes a whole different situation.

How many DirecTV TiVos have been announced on the S3 platform? Without
mention of hacking, how many DirecTiVos support transferring to PC?

What I have is irrelevant as I have DirecTV TiVos and what I posted (with no
mention of hacking) doesn't apply to the DirecTV offerings.

Before you lambaste people for not reading everything, how about you read it
all for comprehension?

What i was getting at is that the OP might have a DirecTIVO unit. That was HIS
mistake for not telling all of US what type of TIVo he was asking about.

Good rule of thumb... No mention of DirecTV usually means standalone.

Mine is Humax (DTR-400?).

A couple of nights ago, I recorded eight shows on a DVD for my wife. Pick
shows, press "go" and walk away. Looks good, lasts a long time,

Six or seven of them were recorded on the DVR at "basic" quality.

We generally record at "High" quality - the two hours to a DVD is easy to
use. If a movie is over two hours, we just record at "Medium" quality.

[The Humax was an used one we got from TiVo around last Christmas for $300
including a year of service. Quite happy with it. But, then, grin, remember
that I went from 1991 until 1999 without a teevee so whatever.
