That unexplained link does appear to be a good one. The program VLC is
also a good video player. It works as it should and lacks a lot of
extraneous stuff that just gets in the way. It can also do streaming
between machines.

Do you have a URL for VLC?
The OP's URL is just two .DLLs.

Why do I have a sudden craving for Alphabet Soup? ;-)

Tiresome.

For VLC, go here and start following the links:

I thought that one would work. Anyway, the URL I used is

Since it's a sourceforge download, you can get to the project page at
http://tivo-vlc.sourceforge.net

and read everything they've written. It includes links to VLC and
installation instructions for this plugin and so on.

Thanks to Stephen, Mark, & Dr. Personality for the info!

Too bad the OP didn't provide a one of those links. I'm not
criticizing HIM, it's really Sourceforge's fault that the
original
URL couldn't be followed to the REAL project page, and that the
"Projects" link lead to a search page which could only find
trivial
references to vlc in other projects, NOT vlc, and NOT the
project
page for tivo-vlc.

It's always that way with Sourceforge: if you don't already
have
the correct URL, you're out of luck.
That other poster was probably right... I should have used
Google
instead of wasting an hour with Sourceforge's search function.
Searching Sourceforge for "vlc" does NOT find the tivo-vlc
page!

Thanks again guys, for the correct URLs- I appreciate the info!

(The correct tivo-vlc URL: http://tivo-vlc.sourceforge.net)

On that page they talk about "TY" files. My Series 2 TiVo puts
out a .tivo file. Does VLC decrypt the .tivo file?
