I have existing standard TV with reception via DISH satellite. I am going
to buy an HDTV and upgrade the DISH satellite package to HD. So..which should come first: should I have the DISH HD reception ready when the HDTV is delivered?...or should I have the HDTV in place when the DISH people come out to set up the HD reception? Thanks |

Thanks That choice is up to you. I went with the HDTV first and then upgraded my DISH Network system to a ViP622 HD DVR a few months latter. I did have an ATSC tuner so I could watch local HD and digital broadcast channels before I upgraded my satellite system. DISH now carries 29 HD channels (and locals if they are available in your area) so there is usually a lot of HD to watch. My biggest complaint is that the VOOM HD channels repeat their programs WAY too much but, hopefully, that won't be as big a problem in the future as more HD programming becomes available. -- Bill R. Thanks Some one said, "It's up to you", but I don't think it is. I called DISH Network and asked. They wouldn't even schedule the installation until I had the TV. They sent me all the equipment right away though. OTOH it's to your advantage to have the TV ready any way. Now all I want is for them to offer more HD. But for now the feeds look great Theo Studio City, CA |
