The Mets-Yankees game is in GOOD Quality HD here! RCN Cable

They will show the All-Star game on HD and the playoffs and World Series, but not regular season games. |

So how does one determine whether it is true HD or widescreen SD without sitting
1 foot from the screen? My StarChoice satellite receiver has a number of "HD" channels, and my Sony XS955 will clearly state the broadcast is 1080i, when it appears to me to be not. Remember when stereo came out--there was this neat little red light that let you know when a broadcast was being sent stereo? -- All the Best Richard Harison "Alan Figgatt" wrote in message ... wrote: I would switch to the Analoge, but thats just as bad The Fox Saturday afternoon baseball games are usually (if not all) are widescreen SD, not true HD. So how does one determine whether it is true HD or widescreen SD without sitting 1 foot from the screen? Wide angle shots make it obvious...the crowd/background on true HD is quite a bit sharper. Also, look for moire patterns. A lot is a sign that the sampling rate is too low to pick up all the resolution that is available in the real life picture. -- Jeff Rife | "Having your book turned into a movie is like | seeing your ox turned into bouillon cubes." | | -- John Le Carré |
