Default question on samsung dlp and non hd broadcasts

Is it just a fact of life that non hd broadcasts look crummy on my 43"
samsung dlp tv, or is there a way to play with options/settings to get them
to look better? HD broadcasts look breathtaking. I have comcast digital
cable box. With non- hd content am I better off not using component input
in tv from cable box?

Other people have suggested trying the s-video output from your cable box
for non-HD channels and then letting the TV's line doubler create a better
picture.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll give it a try.
