Does it fully fix the bug introduced last year, though? Can you turn OFF
Parental Controls, ie "there are no children in this household so stop
nannying me", and then not ever be bothered by PIN demands?

It appears to do so - that is to say, the facility is definitely there
and I have applied it: but so far I haven't watched anything which
would be affected and so I can't confirm that it actually works in
practice.

Now you have a reasonable excuse to watch porn!

Default New Update?

posts below from a thread earlier.. it seems whatever they did screwed
up Pace PVR machines. I think I saw elsewhere that there is now a fix
but a forced install would have to be done.

Interesting, thank you.
I'll ask about that, when I get in touch with the installer, to see
about getting the blasted thing returned.

Just reload the firmware. They have fixed the problem (perhaps one day
they'll actually test firmware before releasing it).

LOL! Yeah, right. It's been, what, 8 years now? Why change the habit
of a lifetime. I remember all too well those versions that didn't have
a problem, honest gov, yet resulted in just about everyones boxes
crashing at least once a day, so much so that TiVo had to produce a
special code to turn the damn thing on after it had crashed.
