It explains why I lost my broadband connection - fortunately I have Sky
rather than Telewest cable TV though.

That's odd. I've got Telewest and live in Bristol (quite near to
Patchway as it happens) - lost BBC HD and all the Sky channels but
still had standard BBC1 so didn't miss the footie. Don't think I lost
my Broadband either.
