Sky by Broadband

Hi Everyone
Has anyone successfully registered with Sky by Broadband - I've been trying
since Saturday and it keeps telling me I don't have either Sports or Movies
whereas I do have the movies package. I've tried the helpline several times
and they say they're having tech diffs (and high demand - why advertise it
if they can't deal with demand) and to keep trying, but could give no time
scale for resolution. I was just wondering if anyone has used it yet and if
it's as good as it sounds?

You might want to check up on the fact that it apparently installs P2P
software on your PC which may well be in use long after you have stopped
downloading. May or may not be an issue for you.

Probably a silly question - but if someone already has a Sky
Sports/Movies sub, why on earth wouldn't they just watch it on TV?

Couch potatoes?, Someone who thinks they can download,convert to DVD and
flog on Ebay??

Might even be they want all their bandwidth using up with the P2P software
that stays there even when the S By BB is uninstalled?

I installed it and thought it was rubbish.

The user interface is clunky, there is a poor selection of films to watch,
and it took an absolute age to download anything. Add to that the fact it's
using your upstream bandwidth (without telling you) and doesn't uninstall
the Peer-2-peer client when you uninstall the application, I was left
feeling that it was a really nasty piece of work. I won't be installing it
again.

Not apparently, definitely. It runs whilst the application is open. You can,
however, watch the video with the application closed.
