Default FTA HD channels with Sky HD

Hi

Is it possible to get a Sky HD box and keep the Sky+ subscription but not
pay the HD subscription? Would this then allow me to access the FTA HD
channels?

Thanks
Stephen

As I see it, yes.
But the box costs £399 rather than £299 if you don't take the HD sub.
Given you have a 12 month contract, the total cost inc sub for that period
is £419. Only £20 more.
So, you might as well have the HD sub for the 1st year and see if you like
it, and then cancel at the end of the 12 months if you don't

And 20 quid happens to be the payback for the delivery debacle -
so we're all square!

Don't you have to also pay for installation on top as you are not taking the
Sky channels?

The SkyHD box will allow reception of the BBC HD channel without any
payment at all.

With the recording payment you can also record the HD and SD channels
(or will be able to when Sky sort the thing out).

The HD sub is only required in order to watch pay HD channels.

This is a simple plug-in job if you already have a quad LNB.
