The Sky+ and SkyHD boxes should both record and playback all channels,

Wow, that's really interesting, because of course everyone must have
missed the last few hundred times you said it....

Clearly there are some here who still don't understand the situation
and so the repetition is worthwhile.

And repeating a self-evident truth doesn't make it any less true or
valid.

Just like he berates the newbies for asking questions..............

You are mistaken.

What i dont understand about Jomtien & others like him. They all subscribe to a sky newsgroup, in fact
some 'own' the said NG.

No one owns any group.

But all they do is berate sky & others.

You are mistaken.

Great name, and of course neatly sidesteps the Gumball 'trademark' and
associated massive expense. What was once the greatest one-fingered
salute to traffic legislation, has become a big party for the
super-rich. I doubt if Bo and Luke could scrape up 4 grand, never mind
40, but wouldn't everyone love to see General Lee in a Gumball? Or
Kowalski in the mighty white Challenger?

There wont be much chance of getting speeding tickets, most of us are going in Land Rovers towing
caravans!!!! Some are off in 101's!!!

Sorry, but i believe it to be true, OK you have a very good FAQ, but some simply dont understand some of
the lingo etc.

Come on, when did you last say anything positive about Sky. OK, they are a pain as i know from this week
myself. There isn't anything else to compare it with in this country right now. It's expensive, but it
does offer plenty of different packages & services. If sky didnt take on board & move forward we would
still all be watching analogue 4:3 pictures. I dont mind paying for a service that i use & think offers
reasonable value for money.

But alas, it is far from perfect, but it's all we have!!

For some reason I can't record the BBC HD demo channel.

(and there's some specacular looking stuff on it)

I'm not that bothered, but thin end of the wedge and all that, it's
somewhat worrying that a channel can just disallow you recording it.

What next? Before long they eliminate *all* recording?

Goto manual recording settings in the services menu then you can set it
up to record BBC HD.

That worked. Many thanks.

The current BBC HD stuff is still considered a preview which is why
you can not record it, from Saturday the channel will be "live" and it's
programming recordable from the EPG.

Three weeks from now, I shall be giving it some stick around the
Western end of Crete in something really exotic like a Daewooo Matiz!

Nothing bigger fits the village streets...........
