The latest Sky magazine is proudly advertising all the films and
events that will be shown in HD in May - but isn't it a bit pointless[1] to state that, for example, the Heineken Cup final is to be broadcast in high definition, when (as I understand it), nobody's going to have a Sky HD box and sub until 22 May...? Ordered HD last week (well after the pre-order had finished) and got an installation date of 6 June. They can't have that much of a high demand if I am getting a two-week after launch install by ordering about a month after ordering went live... |

I can't imagine that the demand would be all that high as there still aren't that many people with HD Ready sets. That's why I'm kind of ok with the prices SKY are charging. Their target user base isn't that big and there will be a considerable cost for SKY to develop and start HD Broadcasts. |
