Default Programmes "Also in HD" in early May...

The latest Sky magazine is proudly advertising all the films and
events that will be shown in HD in May - but isn't it a bit
pointless[1] to state that, for example, the Heineken Cup final is to
be broadcast in high definition, when (as I understand it), nobody's
going to have a Sky HD box and sub until 22 May...?

It seems likely that Sky would liked to have launched HD a little earlier.
The Sky mag probably went to press before the final date was set.

Also, there are of course those who have Sky HD as part of the trial
period - so "nobody" is slightly inaccurate.

22 May? I thought it was supposed to be a lot earlier. Ordered HD last
week (well after the pre-order had finished) and got an installation date
of 6 June.

They can't have that much of a high demand if I am getting a two-week after
launch install by ordering about a month after ordering went live...

I can't imagine that the demand would be all that high as there still aren't
that many people with HD Ready sets. That's why I'm kind of ok with the
prices SKY are charging. Their target user base isn't that big and there
will be a considerable cost for SKY to develop and start HD Broadcasts.
