To improve PQ on standard definition is it possible to split the cable (TW
cable) using a two way splitter one going to setup box and one going directly into the tv (40"Sony xbr lcd) which I believe has a better tuner, then the box.Would that weaken the signal strength.Or other option is to use a Cable Card,in which TW discourages, because I believe that they loose money on the box rental & remote, and also Pay per view in which I dont care about. I'm not sure how I would switch between cable box and tv.Thanks |

The cable card is a viable solution for you. If you put on a two way splitter you will lose 3dB in signal strength, but that is not usually significant enough a drop to make any difference. I was under the impression that connecting non-Telewest approved kit (i.e. a CableCard) to your cable connection would result in your connection being terminated if they ever found out about it. Or are you talking about a Digital Tuner card? -- Regards, JasonB |
