Removed my auction for a digibox? My paid for digibox?

Anyone know why?

Yes, because of this:

FTA card

The card belongs to NDS and may not be sold.

Ebay apparently have selective blindness when it comes to these and
also the thousands (millions?) of blatantly pirated products that are
sold on it daily.

Ebay just have automatic systems. More than likely it just
picked up on a key word and closed your auction.

As far as viewing cards go Ebay only seem to react if they actually
receive a complaint from Sky/NDS.

Otherwise they don't seem to care. Which just about sums them up.

(1) You could not have 'bought' them from the BBC, as they were not
sold.

At no stage in the
transaction was it ever stated that I had not bought these cards outright & they
were not my property.

(2) The card mailer would have indicated that the card remains the
property of someone else and must be returned upon request.

Admittedly printed on the
card is the statement that it is the property of Sky Subscriber Services

Ah, so you DO know then! :-)

Because you sold it with a Sky card?

Sky cards beling to Sky and thus can't be sold.

What you bought was the right to view the channels, rather than the
card.

It's like renting a hotel room for the night. You are buying the right
to sleep there but not buying the actual door key!

Yes they were. I called up on two occasions & said that I wanted to buy a card
to view the BBC channels. They took my credit card details & posted the cards to
me.

At no stage in the
transaction was it ever stated that I had not bought these cards outright & they

I think that contractually that has the same validity as T&Cs for shrink wrapped
software that require you to agree to the terms before unwrapping & reading the
terms i.e. no validity at all In any case I had already bought the card from the
BBC & no word of any restrictions on my use or ownership of the card had been
given before accepting my money.

Admittedly printed on the
card is the statement that it is the property of Sky Subscriber Services

I know what is printed on the card. Just because I write "Property of Nigel
Barker" on a bank note doesn't make it my property.

No. In this case it was like buying a Virgin SIM card for my mobile phone
so
that I could receive calls on the Virgin network. A one off payment
purchases
the card & I am then free do what I like with the card including sell it
to
someone else.

Erm.... nope. SIM cards remain the property of the network operator.

Really? I have several times bought a SIM for a mobile phone & never
signed a
contract or had this brought to my attention.

You haven't read the included terms and conditions then.

In fact I have pack from a Virgin
SIM in front of me & neither on the SIM itself, on the credit card sized
plastic
that the SIM has been popped out or on any of the packaging is this claim
made.

Funnily enough I've got eight in front of me (from the recent free
promotions) and all of them state the following quite clearly.

Section 2 (Our Agreement) Subsection C Point ii:-

Quote:

We own the SIM cards.

End quote.

Or if you want to read it for yourself:-
http://www.virginmobile.com/mobile/s...onditions.html

A quick Google on "buy sim uk" finds no end of merchants where I can buy a
SIM
card for a mobile phone.

And?
