Default Record DVD from Sky+ box

I have just ordered a Sky+ box with a built in hard disk, it is due
next week.

I already have a Panasonic DVD Recorder.

Can I "record" a program to the Sky+ hard disk, then at a later
date copy or record it to DVD on the Panasonic DVD recorder ?

Yes, but only as a 'real time' video/audio transfer via the Scart lead.

Yep, that's exactly what I do, or you can record directly to the DVD-R

AFAICS, the only advantage Sky+ has over a DVD/HD recorder is the 2nd
tuner. And with a stand-alone DVD/HD you can copy programs at many times
the speed of the Sky+ box, which only works on real-time.

Access to their EPG, true off-air quality recording (external
recorders can only get close due to the D-A and A-D conversions),
and the ability to record two Sky channels while watching a third
recording.

Sky+ is not, and never has been, and unless there's a change in the
copyright laws, never will be, meant as an archiving system. It is
designed and meant solely as a short term time shifting device.
Whether you or I think that's either fair, or even sensible, that's
just the way it is.

Regards

I am thinking of buying the Pioneer DVR-630. Can this record
one or two programmes whilst watching another?

One of the features of the 630 is that apparently it can copy your
videos onto dvd. Does anyone know if copies the whole tape
or can you say remove the commercials?
