They were able to subtitle Deniis Rodman's conversation so either the whole show is scripted or it's prerecorded. Probably the former since everything on TV is fake these days. [Just catching up] The 9 pm show is partly live and partly recorded. It shows "highlights" from the day before, subtitled if necessary. The almost live streaming on E4 is delayed so that the sound (and sometines vision) can be cut off for the reasons mentioned by someone else. However, the main presentational reason for the delay is to allow the selection of what action to show. There can be several activities and conversations going on at the same time. It is only after a period a several minutes that the editor can make a sensible choice of which to transmit. -- Peter Duncanson UK |

":::Jerry::::" wrote in message eenews.net... Apparently that was the cause, according to another group, the second eviction was at about 10:20, add the 15 min TX delay and adverts we get to around 22:40... Transmission was well after 11pm. We were given the impression of it being LIVE. -- Regards David Please reply to News Group |

I agree that something like "almost live" would be better. I'm not sure that there is an deliberate attempt to deceive, after all if people can cope with the idea of downloading or buying a CD of music "recorded live" they should be able to manage other variations on "live". -- Peter Duncanson UK |

We were given the impression of it being LIVE. We were. It was live at the time it was recorded! I assume that as far as the production staff, Davina, housemates, et al, were concerned it was live -- there were no opportunities for retakes or re-editing. It was "recorded live". There was simply a time delay before transmission. All very confusing to the innocent viewer. Some of us would be happy to have a more accurate indication of what "live" really means for each broadcast, but I'm not at all sure that everyone would be interested. -- Peter Duncanson UK |

Anyone watching the 'live' in house coverage of the final result last night and then switching over to the LIVE (well qualified live) coverage of the result on Ch4 were in for a nasty surprise!... |

Well that would make a 30 year old recording of the 'Two Ronnie's a live programme when next broadcast! snip Some of us would be happy to have a more accurate indication of what "live" really means for each broadcast, but I'm not at all sure that everyone would be interested. Indeed, more so were the 'live' interview is nothing but a pre recorded mono-log which has been recorded and presented in such a way to allow the questions (normally from a journalist to another journalist) to be asked LIVE. If the programme exc's. were selling a product they would be up in court on trades description offences!... |
