Apols if this has been mentioned before but it is something that often
strikes me as a great idea (even if it is mine). When a program is advertised would it be possible (via an upgrade) to present Sky+ users with a 'Press the red button now to schedule recoding' and then automagically add a task to record it ?. |

Hi,
In article , Resident wrote: When a program is advertised would it be possible (via an upgrade) to present Sky+ users with a 'Press the red button now to schedule recoding' and then automagically add a task to record it ?. Yep, and it's been suggested before. However, as I almost never watch live TV these days, it'd have to also work while playing back a recording (which is unlikely). Also, because I watch the ads at x30, the chances of me even seeing the trailer is unlikely! The best option would be to have a 'preview' channel that shows (say) a 15 minute long program repeatedly during the day. All the channels could then advertise their upcoming programs on this channel. We'd just have to record this once a day and be able to keep up with any new programs that were starting. Andy |

Andy it would be very handy Also like Andy we hardly ever watch live TV and always 30x thru ads. Cant see Sky giving us a channel to preview and add recordings as I imagine that that would mean even less people watching ads. Seem to remember some talk of Sky not letting you fast forward through adverts from a recording. Hope they never do this but I imagine that a lot of their paying advertisers are not too happy about this side of Sky+ Dave aka Elwood |

Andy I think if they were ever stupid enough to do that that they would make a lot of people very unhappy. Since dumping my Sky+ box and going to a Freeview PVR I haven't missed Sky once and am sure that a lot of other people would do what I did if they Sky started playing silly buggers and locking down the FF button during ads. -- RCE Defiant |

As someone else reported here Sky only get 8% of the revenue through advertisers so they arent calling the shots. Sky+ users also have extremely low leaving rates, so I doubt they'd want to jeopardise that. -- Tumbleweed email replies not necessary but to contact use; tumbleweednews at hotmail dot com |
