Default Interaction between multiroom and Sky+

I'm considering upgrading to sky+ and have two questions:

1. Does the plus box have an additional cable from the dish or is the
original cable replaced with a dual cable sheathed into one bundle?

2. How does having multi-room affect the operation of the plus box, i.e
can I still record one program while watching another on the plus box
while someone else is watching a third channel in the multi room
extension?

Depends but most of the time, The installer runs two seperate cables from
the dish to the box (The LNB has four inputs)

No afftect at all, with the LNB on the dish having four inputs you can
either run two Sky+ boxes or 1 Sky+ and two normal boxes.
Look at it as having four dishes and four cables coming down into your
house,The LNB allows the connection for up to four receivers and as you
already know Sky+ uses two of them.

Are you sure, because I believe that is incorrect and that a dual cable is
normally used, can anyone else confirm?

Never seen a dual cable, not that I'm saying they don't exist.
All installations that I have seen use two cables.

I'll send you a picture if you want :-) I have seen plenty of comments here
about dual cable being used to replace the single cable (for plus upgrades).

I had a Sky+ box installed about 8 weeks ago. I already had a cable
through the wall on my old box and the installer said it would easier if
he pulled a dual cable through the brickwork using the single one as a
pull-through, so yes, it does exist.

My single cable was replaced by a dual cable when I upgraded to Sky+.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I forgot to order it before the end of
December and have missed the offer of 89 quid :-( I'll wait for the
next offer.

Is this what you mean:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/125mtr-DRUM-OF...c mdZViewItem

If you look closely you can see the two cables are bonded together so
presumably are split after coming through the wall, a bit like speaker
cable. I can't see much benefit over having two single cables myself.
