Default Digital Switchover dates

found this link 'http://www.ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=SD509930'
that is giving dates for switchover to digital but does anyone know the
source of the dates, I've looked on the goverment sites for switchover
and can't see the same information.

For my area Kendal the following dates are given :-

A=Analogue - D=Digital

A-BBC2 Off - 01/07/2008
D-BBC2 On - 01/07/2008
D-BBC1 On - 01/07/2008
D-BBC3 On - 01/07/2008
D-CBBC On - 01/07/2008
D-News24 On - 01/07/2008

A-Channel4 Off - 31/08/2008
D-Channel4 On - 31/08/2008
D-E4 On - 31/08/2008
D-More4 On - 31/08/2008
D-ITV1 On - 31/08/2008
D-ITV2 On - 31/08/2008
D-ITV3 On - 31/08/2008
D-ITV4 On - 31/08/2008

A-ITV1 Off - 30/10/2008
D-BBC4 On - 30/10/2008
D-cBeebies On - 30/10/2008
D-five On - 30/10/2008
D-BBCi On - 30/10/2008

A-BBC1 Off - 31/12/2008

One thing that surprises me is that there is no overlap in the
switchover for BBC2 and Channel4

The source does in fact state that: "This is a provisional schedule
showing the most likely dates and channels. .....(it) will be updated
as soon as more information is published".

Ofcom are stating that they will review the UK situation in 2010, but
that it is possible that the regional roll-out could be completed faster
than planned:

All I can say is that the compaines involved, who are spending millions
on analogue switchoff are in fact working to the latest published schedule.
The latest changes were made so that switchover was complete in the
London area before the Olympics start in 2012.

So we will go from having a decent Tv service, to one which is pathetic.
why not just leave things as they are? digital T.V is crap.

with any luck, the whole thing will go belly up and analogue will have
to stay on

Probably because the same frequency allocations currently used for BBC2
and C4 analogue from Kendal will be used for the muxes carrying the
digital versions. Although BBC 2 Kendal is Ch 64, which AIUI is to be
sold off ?

Aren't the digital channels already on in Kendal?
