Humax PVR8000T software update

Hi

I'm a newbie here, so sorry if this question has been answered many
times before.

How do I find out when a software update is being transmitted on
terrestrial UK signals for my Humax PVR8000T. I've contacted Humax and
they referred me to http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/download_schedule.pl
but this doesn't indicate my product software on their schedule. Is the
PVR8000T such an old model they've stopped transmitting software
updates?

And do I just leave the unit on standby during this period, or do I
have to run an automatic update from the software update menu at this
time?

They are still transmitting updates for this excellent pvr.

However they've just sent out a repeat of the latest firmware. Just keep
an eye on that web page.
The chances are that you have the latest software even if you haven't
had an over the air download.

The box checks when powering on. It can be set to update
automatically. I'm not sure if this is the default state.

The unit can also "auto-detect" if left in standby with
automatic update selected. The menu option allows you to
set the time - usually overnight. I think all it does is
power on for a while then perform the automatic update if
new software is detected.
