The debate about DOGs will run and run but tonight I've been watching
the Cream/Clapton stuff and thankfully the Reunion Concert from the Hall of Albert along with two other related programmes was DOG free while the Clapton/Robert Johnson documentary had the usual BBC FOUR DOG. I can't help but wonder why. -- Richard Watkinson Treasurer Sheffield Folk Festival http://www.sheffieldfolkfestival.org/ Join the RSPB today |

I notice that the classic feature films shown recently are free of the DOG, however the continuity announcer is still instructed to announce the trail for the next programme over the end credits however. A small price to pay to protect copyright and have a DOG free picture. It must mean someone in BBC4 has some sense of decent standards, though I was beginning to wonder. Roger |

Yes, I noticed the same thing and wondered if they had come to their senses at last, only to be disappointed when it reappeared. The DOG on More4 is interesting. I suspect it has the same contrast as the BBC DOGs, but being darker than the background image, instead of lighter, it seems much less intrusive. Probably more plasma friendly too. ;-) -- Kennedy Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed; A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's ****ed. There is no doubt it is still intrusive and I would prefer to see these things banned completely from UK TV. However even though it is quite large, the polarity seems to make it less intrusive than the conventional white DOGs of the same contrast. -- Kennedy Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed; A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's ****ed.
