Default WNBC high definition in NYC metro area

Some folks are reporting it is on the air, but in lower Westchester County I
get no signal...yet (on 4-1).

I heard that WNBC-DT is broadcasting from a low power antenna atop the GE
building at 30 Rockerfeller Plaza. They plan to move to the Empire State
Building when the combiner on the main mast is up and running...whenever
that will be.

NY metro TV has not been the same since 9-11. Besides the loss of life,
there were millions of dollars of broadcast equipment that were also
destroyed. OTA broadcasts have been horrible since that disaster, at least
here on Long Island, 35 miles to the east of the city. Everyone I know
either has a dish or cable.

Definitely on. I am getting about an 85 (I get 89 for CBS and 97 for
ABC). Apparently ABC and NBC are broadcasting from 4 Times Square
rather than ESB. For me channel 11 (12) is much weaker and less
reliable. Of course maybe something blocks your sight of 4 Times
Square, but you did mention getting ABC.

Note also ABC apparently has switched over to 24 hour (well at least the
morning news shows, before I go to work). Previously cut off overnight
and didn't restart to the evening.

CBS(2) is on 56
NBC(4) is on 28
FOX(5) is on 44
ABC(7) is on 45
UPN(9) is on 44 (sharing with FOX)
WB(11) is on 12
