Default Sky+ and 5.1 sound.

Hi,

Do Sky+ recordings have the same quality sound as the original broadcasts?
And what if you burn them to DVD, does that copy over as well?

Thanks,

SW

Yes, both sound and picture are identical to broadcast quality.

If you have a sound card with digital in, then yes, but there aren't
any stand alone DVD recorders with digital in. They re-encode the
analogue stereo into DD 2.0 sound.

Thanks, Mark.
Must say I'm surprised that you can't get a DVD recorder with digital
input. I was going to get one but I'll wait a bit now. So does the Sky+
box have digital out, then?

Yup, one optical socket. 'Tis the only way to hear the 5.1 sound from
the three Sky Movie chanels that often use it.
