Default Sky "Mixes" since 1st September

Some time ago many people were intending to change (from 1st September) to
some cheaper selection (2 or 4) of the 6 "Mixes" which now comprise the old
"Family Pack" subscription level.

There was also a vague rumour that this might, initially, only be possible for
new subscribers.

Has anyone actually managed to change - and did it go smoothly?

Yes it's possible and easy to do. Just phone them up.
But beware, if you've got Sky+ with unwatched programs I would
watch them before changing your package. Even though the package
you switch to includes a channel you've recorded it doesn't mean
you'll be able to playback the recording.

Yes, and no. I changed from the Family Pack to 2 mixes, and since the
recent software upgrade I'm unable to watch the episodes of Deadwood
(Sky One) and Huff (FX) I recorded in August and hadn't found time to
watch yet :-( :-(
