More4 will launch unencrypted next month. When will C4 go fully
FTA with its channels? (or allow non-Sky FilmFour subs) They extended their encryption contract to Oct 2008 a few months ago. Quelle: www.transponder-news.de http://forum.transponder-news.de/viewtopic.php?t=3875 |

Quelle: www.transponder-news.de http://forum.transponder-news.de/viewtopic.php?t=3875 AIUI, it's going to appear on Freeview and $ky. My guess is that on $ky it will be part of package, like E4/E4+1 still are, and thus encrypted. If C4 have extended their contract with $ky, then I doubt that you'll see anything FTA on $ky from C4 until 2008, if at all. 2008 does tie-up with the start of the analogue terrestrial switch-off though. There was a bit on the MediaGuardian website today about E4 is doing better on Freeview than on $ky - better ad. revenue, viewing figures up, etc. In part this was due to Big Brother (ugh!) but I think that this heralds the way (at some point) for other channels to become freely available on Freeview. Well, I can hope, anyway. Clem Clem |

Even after the BigBrother coverage finished the article goes on to say how
the Freeview service has enabled them to nearly double there audience for E4. "Clem Dye" wrote in message ... Agamemnon wrote: "MJ Ray" wrote in message eenews.net...
