Letterman in HD

Does anyone know when CBS is scheduled to begin broadcasting the
"Late Show with David Letterman" in high definition? The Sony digital
HD cameras are already being employed on the show.

This has been discussed on the AVS forum. The control room will have
to be rebuilt. During that time they will be using production
facilities in a truck that will be brought in. It sounds like it is
being planned for some time this winter. If all this is accurate we'll
probably learn early in the process since Dave seems to enjoy drawing
attention to things going on behind the scenes. I think it is way
overdue and hope they get it done soon.

It's probably the same kind of excitment that was building up since Ed
Sullivan went color at about the same time the Beetles aired.
