Default poor reception but - only of ITV !

Hi

I'm getting really poor reception - but only on ITV, ITV2 and Men & Motors (I
paged through all the channels to test reception). Those three channels have
severe picture break-up and popping sound.

All of the other hundreds of channels are perfectly ok. I've rung Sky who said
there's no reason for just 3 channels to have poor reception and they can't help.

I have a sky+ box which is working fine, ie recording and playback is ok. Signal
strength is about 50% and quality is about 35% for both incoming feeds.

A few weeks ago, I had bed reception in the same way, but just on BBC2, all
other chanels were fine, and BBC2 reverted to perfect reception after a couple
of days.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?????

Thanks

Martin

the quality is the important thing, ie, if error rate too high, then
picture can't be decoded. Could well be just on a few channels.

Quality in "signal strength" only shows default transponder (the
strongest signal). To look at itv, use the digibox installer menu, and
enter the exact channel details into "manual tune", then the display
will show how bad the reception is.

The cure is probably dish realignment. Do you have growing trees, or
similar, gradually blocking the received signal!

35% Quality is too low.

Problem could be caused by any one or combination of:

Dish slightly out of alignment
Trees or other obstructions in the line of sight between dish and
satellite
LNB Problem
Co-ax cable between the LNB and Digibox (quality of cable / water in
cable, etc)

This is far too low. Get the dish adjusted.
