Default Toshiba DVD Player

I've recently bought a new DVD player which appears to have a very
intermittent problem, and I would like to find out if anybody else has
noticed the same.
The player is a Toshiba DVD/CD/VCD, model SD-150E. Very occasionally it
reports a DVD as "bad" upon loading. The same DVD will load and play at
other times without the slightest fault. There is, so far, no similar
problem with CDs.
Just opening and closing the tray doesn't fix the problem, but taking the
DVD out and replacing sometimes does. On one occasion power cycling the
player fixed the problem too. All the DVD play OK on my old player,
without fault every time, but that doesn't have the VCD option.
I'm reluctant to return the player, which is a hassle, with such a minor
intermittent fault. But will the fault get worse over time?

Possibly. I had the same problem on an old Samsung DVD player, the 807.
Mine definitely got more iffy over time. I gave it to a friend (whom I
told about the issue) who still gets fair usage from it, but it has got
more tempramental over time.
