Default Help! Recording Sky

Evening All,

Apologies for what is a very common question, if there's an FAQ that
answers my question, I'd appreciate a link.

My situation:

1. Recently got Sky, I have a Pace Digibox
2. I have a JVC HR-XV2EK VCR/DVD combo
3. Rather old Daewoo telly with 2 SCART sockets.

I can't tune the video into Sky. I have a SCART lead between the VCR
and the digibox, the digibox and the Telly and RF lead from the VCR to
the telly.

The instructions for the VCR say to tune into the skuy channels by
pressing 'AUX' on the remote when in the tuning menu. This gives me 41
channels numbered S01-41, but none of them have the sky signal. Yet I
have read on here that the SCART into the video shouldn't need tuning.
I can't find a button on the VCR remote marked 'AV' or anything like
that to make the video see the sky signal.

So, I'm confused! Can anyone help me out?

Cheers,
Al.

Jomtien,

Thanks, I will have a look at the FAQ and try to what you suggest with
finding the SCART signal on the VCR. Really frustrates me that the VCR
talks about tuning to cable channels when this really doesn't seem to
be what to do - do they even know how to do it?? :-(

Thanks,

Al.

Just to say that I have succesfully managed to record from Sky - simply
by flicking through the video channels until it went to AV2. So all
those hours of tuning and messing around were completely unnecessary!!

Thanks for the info, Jomtien, much appreciated, can now record the
Lions game tomorrow morning :-)

Cheers,
Al.

This is something different again. They probably mean hyperband.

Ah, so my assumption that cable channels were the same as satellite
ones was probably wrong, then? Hey ho, live and learn!

Al.
