Default The facts about CT100 , H109 and CT63 / WF65

I am compelled to write this article as there has been so much
confusion over the CT100 issue and a lot of missinformation floating
about.

The facts about CT100 and H109

Webro

A company based in Nottingham UK The agent for Belden Cables.

All Belden cable in the UK distributed by this company hence
Webro/belden.

Raydex (Volex)

A company based in Manchester UK. No longer trading.

The original developer and owner of the CT100 model number.

Belden

A US company with European manufacturing in Holland, formally Pope
Cable

Belden CDT

In 2004 Belden took over Raydex and became known as Belden CDT
acquiring all Raydex model numbers and development/production
techniques. CT100 CT63 etc.

Contrary to some sources of information, Belden did not merge with its
UK agent Webro

Let us look at the numbers then.

CT100 does not =3D H109 and CT63 does not =3D WF65

CT100 is still produced and is still the best!. Whilst there is no
dispute about the specs of CT100 and H109 being identical the structure
is different as is the cost of manufacture and distribution. Both are
still independent cables made by the same company.

Again, contrary to what you may here about CT100 making a comeback, it
is still here now. Sadly this may not be for long as Belden are now in
competition with themselves, it is highly likely that the market will
force CT100 out in favour of H109.

Meanwhile do not be fooled into believing that these cables are one and
the same at the same cost. You will end up ordering CT100 and getting
H109

H109 is the original Belden (Webro) cable and holds its own CAI number.

I am not Knocking H109 at all, it is top stuff and I sell lots of it
and use it myself. It really is a question of principle and the
assurance that buyers have full factual knowledge of what they are
purchasing.

CT63 - WF65

This is the Dual Cable Mainly used for and developed for Sky by Raydex
and later re-developed by Belden under the number H123 distributed
under WF65 by Webro.

Neither the model number CT63 or the physical structure of the cable
were continued by Belden because of the copper dielectric breaking up
in use. That is why today in WF65 cable you will note an Aluminium
dielectric.

The previous problems of copper on this cable have been resolved by
Belden, so it is possible that manufacture of this cable with copper
dielectric may resume in the future.

Like it or not original CT63 is now obsolete due to it's problems in
service as mentioned above.

WF65 is the only dual coax cable produced and it carries the Belden
part number H123.

WF65 is the Webro number used for ease of ID and is shown on the cable
drums.

WF100

This is high quality foam filled cable and carries a CAI number.

it is very useful where more flexibility is needed as it is less
susceptible to kinking. Also excellent for outdoor use. The penalty,
slightly lower spec than ct100/h109

Finally, there are many cables about of poor quality. Conversely there
are many made in Europe that are of excellent high quality and some
probably even better than CT100. However, unless you really know what
you are dealing with you are safe with the genuine Webro
product.=A9mediachannels-uk

I apologise for an error i made when writing. the wording in the above
paragraphs:
Copper dielectric, should read: Copper screen over dielectric.
