Default Freeview box intermittant problem

I've got an intermittent problem I'm hoping some kind person can help me
with:
I have a Samsung freeview box 5 months old the reception has up to now been
immaculate, all channels (the TV reception using just the outdoor Ariel is
ok also) just lately the picture has lost a colour (red)on all channels the
TV with the box off is ok so its not the TV colour gone, I have checked all
leads and have also rebooted the freeview box with no change, this problem
has only happened twice but returns to normal (good reception/picture) when
switched on the next day.
any suggestions would be appreciated,TIA.

Try unplugging and replugging the SCART lead at both ends.

Try another (fully wired) SCART lead.

Try plugging something else into the same TV SCART socket, such as a DVD
player.

Have no idea but possibly heat build up making one of the
SCART pins/sockets not quite the right size? With a return
to normal the next day (when the system is cold) certainly
makes me think it is something to do with heat build up.
Maybe a new SCART cable, try a blast from an air duster
will cool down the socket/cable connector. Of couse I
could be talking absolute mince but these thoughts might
start your own thought processes.
One of the wee tellys upstairs has a "temperemental"
SCART socket, was giving an intermitent fault took a
lot of troublshooting/elimination to figure out it was the
TV not the cable box finally solved it by "jiggling" the cable
in the socket (connector seemed fully home too).

Thanks S for your thoughts on my problem,I will try all suggested, this
morning I checked and the picture was still minus the red (no change
overnight) so I disconnected the power supply to the freeview box for a
minute, reconnected and the picture was back to how it should be,so I'm
thinking its a freeview box problem, but I will try the other remedies. Thanks

Stumped me, mate. Normally I would say your colour guns have gone....but TV
without the box is fine? Not much use...but.......buggered if I know!

Hope you sort it though!

Thanks to all who took the time to help, the problem was a dodgy scart lead
connection. tdp.

What does that mean then? Colour guns gone where? What utter drivel.

but TV without the box is fine? Not much use...but.......buggered if
I know!

Then why bother to post, since you clearly have no idea what you are talking
about?

People have assumed that you are feeding the TV with RGB. Is this the case?
If it is, then the intermittent lack of one colour could be due to
intermittent contact with that wire in the SCART lead.

However if it happens even when you connect the digital box to the TV by
composite or by RF, then it looks as if it's a fault with the digital box
itself.

Hmm, interesting problem! I wonder if your box is switching from RGB to
composite?

To be honest, my first reaction was that the guns on your TV are playing up.
