I thought to begin with there was a problem with BBC3 and BBC4 as only
these two channels were affected and asked what I thought a valid
question, we are not all as intelligent as you which is why this and
other news groups exist.
I have noticed that on a lot of threads, you update with "see FAQ",
which is pointless and I fell quite rude, would you talk to someone
like that face to face.
If a motorist stopped you in the street and asked for directions, would
you reply "buy a map"........yeah you probably would.
As for my many identities I am only aware of two my Gmail and Bart
Simpson, is there a law regarding who or what I call myself?
Is Jomtien your name or pseudonim (spell?)who knows, who cares?
Cheer up and don't take things so seriously.
I do appologies if you thought I was being rude, you read a post
without seeing the writers face so 70% of what is being said is missed.
Keep smiling.

If you have nothing positive to say, say nothing or is it an ego

with you?

If you already knew the answer why did you waste your time and
everyone else's asking a pointless question? Or were you just bored?

For that matter why do you apparently use several different

identities
when posting and yet manage to mix them up? If one of your multiple
personas knows the answer then perhaps he should tell the other one
instead of both of you wasting our time.

You asked a question : I told you the likely answer. It's hard to see
how much more positive one can get. The fact that the probable
solution has been staring you in the face from every single message I
ever post, and as answer number 1 in the FAQ, simply demonstrates how
incredibly obtuse some people can be.

Just in case one of you still hasn't understood: there is nothing
wrong with BBC3 and BBC4. They are working fine. Your digibox

probably
just needs rebooting. I am reliably informed that this solves 99% of
all digibox problems. If this fails to work you should report back

and
normally on reading that I would then try and find another cause. As
it is, I suggest that you can whistle.

Up yours, you ****.

Rudeness is the last resort of the intellectually challenged.

Have a nice day.

Don't worry, I always do. Part of my nice day will probably involve
watching BBC3 and BBC4.

Indeed, but there is something odd about this fault, as I stated
elsewhere in the thread I suffer the same problem too for time to time.

Changing from BBC 3 or 4 when they display the banner to other BBC
channels on the same t/p is not a problem. Those channels are displayed.
Returning to BBC 3 or 4 still displays the 'no signal...' banner until
you clear it by returning the box to standby and back on again.

I can only assume wild guess it's got something to do with BBC 3/4's
timeshare status with CBBC/CBeebies ?

Evidently there is a beach in Thailand named after him. Unlike you & I
he doesn't post with a valid email address either. It wasn't so long ago that
all his posts were flagged X-No-Archive so his older postings cannot be found on
Google.

As long as someone replied to him with the original text included, chances
are they can.

But probably not when those channels are just two out of several on
the same transponder.

Either way, if there is a problem the first thing to try is to reboot.
This applies to digiboxes, PCs, Macs, TVs and indeed anything with a
microprocessor.

Yes. My V1 Sky+ does something similar, though the message I get is
"technical fault".

There is nothing rude about "see the FAQ". It is a polite invitation
to read a completely free source of much information that is
intimately related to the question.

If a motorist stopped you in the street and asked for directions, would
you reply "buy a map"........yeah you probably would.

No, but if there was a free map available just a mouse click away I
would indeed advise him to avail himself of it.

The FAQ is free and easily accessible. It answers most common
questions. Many people have gone to some trouble to create it and have
done so entirely for the benefit of others.
Do them the courtesy of reading it.

I do appologies if you thought I was being rude,

Yes, oddly enough I did indeed think that "up yours you ****" was
being rude.
I can't imagine why.
The local vicar says it all the time.

Usenet is a cooperative arrangement. Posting anonymously as you do & hiding your
postings from posterity as you did formerly is simply rude & inconsiderate. I
post using my real name & real email address if anyone wants to contact me
privately they are welcome. I don't try & hide my identity or postings.
