I have had sky+ since it first came out, but my V1 box is now dying, and I
want a new one. How do I get Sky to offer me a deal? and who makes the sky+ boxes now, is it Amstrad and Pace. which is best? Thanks, Mark |

Threaten to cancel. and who makes the sky+ boxes now, is it Amstrad and Pace. Yes. There is also the Thomson model with larger hard drive. You can buy a new V2 Pace and fit a larger drive for much less money. which is best? Which do you think? (This isn't hard.) -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. I was going to go for the 160, but then I thought with SKY HDTV round the corner (2006 like but still in my upgrade terms its round the corner) which is bound to be SKY+ based, I thought I'll save the cash and just replace my 40Gb drive for £30 and hey its like new again. If your lucky with a later v1 you could possibly upgrade to a bigger drive anyway, check the forums mentioned here every so often first (17min bug!) Thing is I never saved the cash, but I have a nice new ABIT AA8 mother board and P4 3.4 for the trouble :-) |

Thanks, Mark You could call them up and say 'i want to cancel SKy' when they ask why tell them you dont want to spend £65 on fixing it, and hope they offer you a free one, or if you are pretty sure its the hard disk that is dying, put another one in. -- Tumbleweed email replies not necessary but to contact use; tumbleweednews at hotmail dot com |
